Handling the Competition

There is a lot of competition for actors. It comes with the territory. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a huge market (like Los Angeles) or if you’re in college or even High School – there will ALWAYS be other people who are up for the roles that you’re interested in playing. You can’t compete with them. This isn’t football – this isn’t a sport –It’s art and your only competition is yourself.

Here’s the really cool thing: Nobody can play you the way that you do.

So, go in there.

Be Yourself.

Show them what you’re capable of and realize:

There is no competition.

It’s just you in a room sharing your talent with another person.

You have to get to the point where you love auditioning. If you don’t love auditioning, how can you expect the Casting Directors to enjoy watching you audition?
